Jordan’s surprise 14-6 victory over Locke last week wasn’t close to the one pulled off by Appalachian State at Michigan, but it was significant, nonetheless.

‘It’s probably been 20 years or more since Jordan started the football season 1-0. It hasn’t happen since I’ve been here,’ Coach Elijah Asante said.

The Bulldogs play another Coliseum League team on Friday, taking on visiting Dorsey, which lost, 27-7, to Plain City (Utah) Fremont (3-0) on the road last week. Asante would love nothing more than another upset, but he also wants his players to build on their success by continuing to play the smart, aggressive defense and opportunistic offense.

‘We have to go out and take the game from Dorsey,’ Asante said. ‘We can’t sit back and hope it comes to us. We have to beat them. It’s not going to be any ‘luck’ involved. Dorsey has a great program that plays at a high level. Even when they are down, their ‘low’ level is higher than most team’s high level.’
