My first freelance report has been filed, by none other than Chris Dufresne, the father of Chino Hills Ayala starting offensive lineman Danny Dufresne and a guy who knows a thing or two about football.

He was sorry to report Ayala’s one-game winning streak is finished after the Bulldogs lost Friday night to Corona, 43-14. Now I’ve had a son play high school football, so I know what Chris is going through, but he appeared thorough with his analysis.

In his opinion, the refs were horrible, the Ayala punt team gift-wrapped 21 points for Corona, the team’s three best receivers did not play because of injuries and another dropped a sure TD pass late in the first half. Otherwise, the Bulldogs win by three.

And, believe it or not, Chris witnessed something he has never seen at a high school, college or pro football game. Ayala Coach Tom Inglima was ejected by an official, earning a standing ovation on his way out of the stadium.

‘On to ALTA LOMA,’ he closed in his e-mail.

Not quite South Bend, but when you’re a dad, it doesn’t matter.
