Girls’ volleyball: OC ready to rumble

One of the major tournaments during the season begins Friday as the Dave Mohs/Orange County Championships get under way at Edison, Newport Harbor and Corona del Mar high schools.

According to the OC Register, all of the top girls’ volleyball teams will be participating, including Santa Margarita, Newport Harbor and Laguna Beach, which are the No. 1-seeded teams in their pools. Some outstanding teams from outside OC are also among those vying for titles. After a full day of competition among the top teams on Saturday, the finals for both Division I and II take place Monday at Edison High.
