First things first, though. LB Poly is ranked ahead of Birmingham! Didn’t Birmingham beat Poly last week! Hey, what can I say...it happens sometimes. The difference was only two points, but I doubt that will matter much to Patriots fans.

Back to SGV business, now. South Hills dropped out of the top 25 and Charter Oak dropped off the ballots as well. That means no SGV team made the top 25 cut this week.

That won’t last long though. It might not change as early as next week, but I predict a SGV team will be back -- and one of them might even challenge to reach the top 15, maybe even the top 10.

That team is Los Altos. They should beat LB Wilson this week -- I’ll be at that game, so no pressure guys -- but things get tougher after that. Way tougher: at Damien, at St. Francis, at Western, then at home against South Hills, Diamond Ranch and Charter Oak. That’s a tough stretch. Tough enough that if they survive without a loss, they’ll get a lot of top 25 love, I assume.

And if it looks like I’m on the Los Altos bandwagon, it’s because I am. If you want to climb aboard you better jump on know, because I predict that spaces are going to fill up quickly.
