Wow, I thought we gave Riverside North a beating in our latest poll, dropping the Huskies from No. 8 to No. 20 based on their one-point loss Friday to Redlands East Valley (somehow, we managed to only drop Long Beach Poly eight spots, despite a more one-sided loss, but that’s for another post).

The coaches who decide the Southern Section polls were even less impressed, dropping North to No. 3 in the Eastern Division, behind La Quinta and Phelan Serrano. If that doesn’t wake the Huskies, nothing will.

Now, La Quinta and Serrano seem like solid teams. The Blackhawks just posted a nice win over a much faster team from Rancho Cucamonga, and Serrano has blown out Etiwanda and Victorville Silverado, but North is still one of the most talented teams in the Inland Empire.

I think I’ll clip and save these rankings for later.
