The game really turned on two bad punts by Maranatha. With the deficit at a manageable 14-0, a bad snap and a block punt gave St. Margaret’s great field position and allowed them to bust it wide open.

Here are some highlights...

For the Tartans: QB Cameron Hiller finished the half passing for three touchdowns and running for another. RB Hunter Steffien had two rushing TDs.

Last year, Steffien was the CIF-SS Northeast Division defensive player of the year. He’s good at RB, but one of the parents told me I should watch him play DE.

For the Minutemen: Not many. Sophmore Danny Beckwith has replaced Matt Schilz at QB. He’s looked OK so far.

Second half is about to start.
