Final: St. Margaret’s 56, Maranatha 14

Can a coach make that much of a difference? For at least one night, new St. Margaret’s Coach Harry Welch sure did.

In a rematch of last year’s CIF-SS Northeast Division final, No. 1 St. Margaret’s defeated No. 2 Maranatha. In last year’s final the score was 21-20, St. Margaret’s.

St. Margaret’s quarterback Cameron Hiller led the way by passing for three touchdowns and rushing for another. Running back Hunter Steffien had two rushing touchdowns.

Maranatha didn’t make things easy on themselves by having three punt miscues -- the special team mishaps were converted into touchdowns by the Tartans.
