Woodbridge’s Christine Babcock broke her own record by 26 seconds on her home course to win the girls’ sweepstakes race of the 27th Woodbridge Invitational on Saturday, her third consecutive title in the event. Saugus won the team title, ahead of Esperanza. More than 11,000 athletes competed in the event, according to a Tuesday wrap-up by Jason Eichelberger.

Despite a bruised ankle suffered earlier in the week, Scott Blair of Trabuco Hills finished second in the boys’ featured race, according to the game story in the Register, behind aptly-named Matt Fleet of San Diego University City.
