Servite-Edison moved to Friday at OCC

The Pac-5 Division showdown between Servite, ranked No. 6 by The Southern Section, and Edison, ranked No. 4, has changed days and venues.

The game will be played at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Orange Coast College.

It had originally been scheduled for Thursday at Huntington Beach High.

In The Times rankings for the Southland, Servite is No. 8, Edison No. 10.

Since I had planned to cover the game, I can’t tell you how happy I am that it has been moved to OCC. I’m not fond of Huntington Beach as a venue (sorry, Oilers, but your stadium is just too small for such a big game). A game of this caliber deserves the accommodations that OCC can provide to players and fans (and media hacks).
