I’m shocked by the number of LAPD officers on hand at the Birmingham-Notre Dame game. Of course, this is probably the biggest thing going on in the Valley tonight, but I counted at least a dozen uniformed officers on the sidelines.

I tried talking to a couple of them to get their take on the game, but they wouldn’t say anything on the record. But it seemed like they were enjoying themselves - most were standing in small groups talking and watching Notre Dame’s special teams and defense get worked on.
