Editor Bob: Just got back from dinner for my daughter’s 16th birthday and noticed this blog hadn’t been posted before Jaime’s game accounts, so here it is, albeit late (and I bet Jaime wishes I hadn’t noticed it all, based on his prediction):

It’s not often that I make a prediction, but that’s how confident I feel about this game. Troy (3-0) won’t just beat Diamond Bar (2-2), they are going to beat them big. It won’t even be close.

Why do I make such claims? Two reasons.

1. Troy’s running back, UCLA-bound Derrick Coleman. He is big, he is strong and he is fast. He has the trifecta. 2. The SGV’s record against The OC this year, a weak 1-10.

I hate to feed into the OC’s over-inflated ego, they already think they are all-that-and-a-bag-of-chips, but you can’t deny those numbers. Of course, we’ll find out what’s what next week with El Dorado vs. Glendora and Los Altos vs Western and in the playoffs as well, but for now it’s not even close which region is stronger.

After tonight’s contest, there are 10 more SGV vs. OC games, with the SGV only being favored in three of those games, according to Calpreps. So, like I said, we’ll find out what’s what.

Anyways, back to tonight’s game. A positive for the Brahmas is that they own that one victory, having beaten Brea Olinda, 32-13, last week. Another positive for DB, Troy beat Brea by an almost identical score of 34-14 in Week 1.

So there is a chance for an upset, just don’t count on it.
