Girls’ tennis: Valencia once again a divisional title chaser

In a rematch of last year’s Division III quarterfinals match, Valencia, ranked No. 2 in the Southern Section Divisional coaches’€™ poll, defeated No. 4 Mayfair, 13-5, on Monday behind a strong doubles effort.

Courtney Kaska/Lahren MacKay and Clarice Fraczek and Chloe Kwock swept their No. 1 and No. 2 doubles sets to lead the way.

Once again, Valencia looks like an early favorite to win the Division III title after losing in the finals the last two years. Of course, I’m sure the Vikings aren’€™t thrilled that defending champion Chadwick is still ranked No. 1 in Division III.

I think I smell another rematch between two perennial tennis powerhouses come this November.
