Annoying, but it must offer a great view

For a good portion of the first half, a Ventura County Sheriff’s Department helicopter hovered over the parking lot behind the press box at Newbury Park High. I can only assume the pilot and whoever else was on board was getting a kick out of watching the game, but, dang, it sure was annoying.

The rudder noise from that thing was ridiculous and I know more than just a few people on the sidelines were annoyed by ‘Big Brother’ literally looking over their shoulders. It kind of reminded me of that one episode of ‘The Simpsons.’

Maybe next time I’m in The VC (you know, it’s like The OC, but it’s Ventura County), I can call them up and hitch a ride. It must be a great view from up there.

Game update: A 27-yard field goal by Westlake’s Jordan Mannisto makes it 20-13 Newbury Park early in the fourth quarter.
