There may be a new all-time City Section rushing and touchdown leader by tomorrow night.

Birmingham running back Milton Knox, pictured left, is expected to pass Stafon Johnson and Jerry Brown in the City’s record book during the Patriots game against Chatsworth. Johnson, now at USC, rushed for 5,285 yards in 42 games for Dorsey from 2002-05, and Brown, an assistant coach at Taft, rushed for 5,387 yards in 37 games for the Toreadors from 1992-94.

Knox, a senior who is headed to UCLA, will play his 45th game for Birmingham on Friday. According to CalHiSports.com, Knox’s all-time rushing total stands at 5,260 yards, including the 775 yards he has gained this season.

Knox, Brown and Johnson are the only City players with 5,000 or more career rushing yards.

Also within Knox’s considerable reach is the City’s career record for touchdowns. Marlon Lucky, formerly of North Hollywood and now at Nebraska, tops the list with 81, but Knox has 77, of which 13 were scored this season.
