Servite goes up at halftime, 13-7

Scoring was cut in half in the second quarter. Servite scored after Santa Margarita got tough down by the goal line. The Friars needed five plays to score after reaching the three-yard line. QB Johnny McEntee scored on his fourth consecutive carry, and Michael Loftus’ PAT made it 13-7.

Santa Margarita moved the ball downfield with the pass in the final minutes but stalled at midfield as Brett Mason was sacked by DJ Shoemate as the half ended.

Couple of people are wondering what kind of carnage there is at Mater Dei-JSerra. ‘They’re taking it easy on them,’ I say. Guy gets the score: MD leads at halftime, 28-0.
