Saugus is proving too much for Valencia

Well, I thought Valencia would make a game out of this one, but it seems that the Vikings are no match for the powerful Saugus running duo of QB Desi Rodriguez and RB Ryan Zirbel.

Mid way through the second quarter, Zirbel already has two TD runs and Rodriguez has put three big runs, including a fabulous 78-yard TD that came as a result of a beautifully-executed fake hand-off to give Saugus, ranked No. 23 by the Times, a 21-0 lead.

The Centurions’ defense has also looked near-perfect, stopping QB Graham Wilbert & Co. on a couple fourth-down conversion attempts. Most of Valencia’s drives are fizzling out before they can reach midfield.

I gotta say I’m little surprised Valencia isn’t putting up more of a fight.
