Unbeaten Eagle Rock (7-0, 2-0) has the City’s longest current winning streak, 19 in a row, going into Friday’s ,Northern League game against Marshall (5-2, 2-0).

Coach Jerry Chou, naturally, doesn’t want the streak to end, but he also wishes it was invisible.

‘We never talk about it,’ said Chou, when asked how it was affecting his team. ‘It’s impossible to shield the kids from everyone else talking about it. But we try to stress that the most important thing is today’s practice for the upcoming game.’

Though the Eagles are undefeated, they are not perfect. Chou is concerned about the rising number of penalties the team has been accruing, including 11 in its game against Belmont. ‘We’ve not been as disciplined as we have been,’ he said.
