Hart-Valencia still scheduled for Friday night

I just got off the phone with Hart Coach Mike Herrington and he said Friday’s game against Valencia has not been relocated or rescheduled because of the Ranch and Buckweed wildfires.

He said he hasn’t spoken with Valencia Coach Larry Muir on the matter, but hadn’t heard anything about rescheduling.

‘We’re going to still play it even though we’ll only have two days of practice,’ Herrington said. ‘We’re kind of at the mercy of College of the Canyons because they have a game on Saturday.’

While Hart won’t see the practice field until tomorrow, Valencia managed to get some practice in on Monday at Chaminade.

If all stays the same, undefeated Hart (7-0, 2-0) will take on the Vikings (3-4, 1-1) at 7:30 p.m. Friday at College of the Canyons.

All schools in the William S. Hart Union High School District are scheduled to reopen Wednesday.
