Orange County school districts affected by poor air quality from the regional wildfires throughout the Southland continue to take a wait-and-see approach to whether football games will be played Thursday and Friday.

Outdoor athletic events continued to be postponed on Wednesday.

A decision is expected about noon Thursday to determine the outcome of the Anaheim Canyon game at Tustin. If it’s a no-go, it will be played Saturday at 5 p.m. If the Friday game between Cerritos and Beckman, also scheduled for Tustin High, is determined as unplayable per a noon decision on Friday, it will be played at 1 p.m. Saturday. Both are homecoming games.

Santa Margarita has canceled classes Thursday and rescheduled lower-level football games for Saturday. The fate of Friday’s varsity game between the Eagles and Orange Lutheran at Saddleback College will be determined Friday.
