Ontario vs. Chaffey game moved back to Thursday

School administrators tried to move the Ontario vs. Chaffey game from Thursday night to Saturday night at Montclair HS, but they could not get enough staff members to facilitate holding the game that night. At least two dozen teachers at Ontario live in the fire-ravaged Lake Arrowhead area, said Steve Randall, boys’ athletic director at Ontario, and returning to campus over the weekend would be difficult.

The Mt. Baldy League game has been tentatively returned to its original date, Randall said, but a final decision whether to play the game will be made around mid-day tomorrow.

‘If the [air quality] goes bad, then we’ll cross that bridge when we get there,’ Randall said.
