From the Mission Football Conference Web site:

‘One by one, all six Mission Football Conference games scheduled for October 27 have been cancelled because of poor air quality caused by the Southern California fires. It is not known if the games will be rescheduled for a later date.’

The COA, the CIF equivalent for community college athletics, issued a statement on its website (are you paying attention CIF?). It says ‘our first concern’ is the welfare of the schools affected by the wildfires ‘and our prayers go go out to those affected directly by the current emergency.’

Added COA Executive Director Carlyle Carter:

“Our primary concern has to be keeping our participants and fans safe -- we will addressour participants handle the impact on the future in the coming days.”

Now that’s leadership. It’s always smart to take the health of players, coaches and fans into consideration...DID YOU PAY ATTENTION CIF!?!
