While it seems he’s still pledging 99% of his post-prep-football focus on attending the University of Notre Dame next fall, Notre Dame QB Dayne Crist told Scout.com ‘it’s possible, but not probable’ he could go with an offer from one of the plethora of schools still hounding him by phone and mail.

Of course, this is probably the normal reaction high school athletes have when they’re being pursued on a daily basis by college recruiters and media. It’s just Dayne’s way of saying, ‘Thanks, but no thanks.’

You can tell this kid is already too much in love with the Notre Dame program and is chomping at the bit to work under Coach Charlie Weis, the same guy who had a finger or two in the development of those two Brady guys.

So everybody ought to just back off and let him enjoy his senior season. Because by February, Crist definitely will be part of the Fighting Irish clan.
