Narbonne has turned a corner in its rivalry with San Pedro. Or maybe now you can call it a rivalry.

Friday’s 28-8 victory was the third for Narbonne (7-1, 2-1) in its last four games with San Pedro (6-2, 1-2). It was the first time the Gauchos have won consecutive games against the Pirates, and Friday marked the first time Narbonne has beaten San Pedro on its home field.

‘At one time they had beaten us 23 times in a row, including playoffs,’ Narbonne Coach Manuel Douglas said.’That’s why it’s a big deal to us.’
