Everybody knows Logan Budd, pictured left, is the best QB in the Los Padres League, but if he really wants to get more notice outside the Central Coast, he needs to put up another trademark performance Friday in Morro Bay‘s showdown with defending champs St. Joseph.

Whichever team wins this one will take the league title, and Budd once again figures to be the guy who’ll be spearheading the Pirates’ effort. He has 987 yards passing and 10 TDs with zero interceptions on the season. He also has 875 yards rushing with 13 TDs and is the team’s best defensive back with four interceptions.

Several schools including Boise State, Arizona State, Utah, San Jose State and San Diego State have expressed interest in the multi-talented Budd, but no offers have been made.

And he isn’t the only big name on Morro Bay’s roster. Another DI prospect, TE/DE Jerome Long, had 14 tackles in the Pirates’ 54-0 victory over Cabrillo on Friday.
