Evidently, the Jordan Bulldogs can’t claim the Eastern League championship yet.

City Section officials are investigating whether the team used an ineligible player. City spokesman John Aguirre would not comment about the investigation Thursday, but said a decision would be reached before the playoff seeding meeting on Nov. 10.

When asked about the depth of the investigation, Aguirre hinted it could involve league games ‘which is why a decision has to be made quickly.’

Jordan (6-3, 5-0), which we thought won at least a share of the league title last week by defeating Garfield, 42-22, has one game left, Friday, against South Gate. Garfield (6-2, 3-1), which plays Roosevelt this Friday and Bell the next, has only lost to Jordan in league play.
