Don’t leave your guard down just because the game’s over

I was standing on the sidelines of the Coliseum Saturday night as the USC vs. Oregon State game ended and thought it was interesting how most of the players just ran straight up the tunnel after the game, rather than shake hands.

I’m not going to recommend background checks, metal detectors or stun guns at the ready, but a teammate of mine was punched in the stomach while shaking hands with another team 24 years ago, and that was after we lost.

Seems like things are just getting more dangerous in the handshake line these days. Be careful out there.
