I can remember other Banning-Carson games where the parking lot was filled at 3:30 p.m. -- and the game did not start until 7:30. But I’m here at Veterans Stadium in Long Beach two hours before kickoff, and there are roughly 50 people in the stands -- and that’s for both sides.

This for two teams that are a combined 15-3 and fighting for the Marine League title? Exactly when did this intense rivalry inspire this kind of fan apathy?
