Ryan Bass scored on second-half touchdown runs of 51 and 12 yards for Corona Centennial, rounding out the scoring in the 43-7 victory at Norco, which clinched the outright Mountain View League title for the Huskies.

About the only sour note for Centennial was that Arizona-bound quarterback Matt Scott tweaked his left ankle midway through the third quarter, but he insisted it was nothing serious. ‘I just rolled it,’ he said. ‘It will be OK though.’

I have to say, the Huskies looked a little better than they did earlier in the season, and they were terrific then. Bass seems to be running at his best, the linebackers are speedy as ever and even the kicking game looks a lot tighter. They really do look like a state championship-caliber team.
