Corona Centennial just extended its lead to 21-7 on a 66-yard touchdown pass from Matt Scott to Ricky Marvray with nine minutes remaining in the second quarter. Marvray ran a five-yard out on third-and-seven, Norco’s cornerback bit and Marvray took his route up the sideline, where he was all alone for the catch-and-run.

Norco fumbled the ensuing kickoff -- the Cougars also fumbled away the game’s opening kickoff-- and Ryan Bass just scored on a six-yard run to make it 28-7 with eight minutes remaining in the half.

Norco’s gonna get embarrassed if it doesn’t start protecting the ball.

Bass also took advantage of the first fumbled kickoff and scored on a 10-yard run. Scott has the other touchdown, a 35-yard scramble that gave the Huskies a 14-0 lead 3 1/2 minutes into the game.

Norco put together a nice drive and scored on a 38-yard run by sophomore Deantre Lewis, but the Cougars don’t seem to have an answer for Centennial’s no-huddle offense, especially when the kickoff team keeps giving them a short field.

Norco running back Josh Nakamoto, who is playing for the first time since dislocating his ankle on the second offensive play of the season, has a few carries, but none for more than four yards.
