I’m not talking about Joe Montana to Dwight Clark in the 1982 NFC Championship game, that’s ‘The Play.’ I’m talking about Da Play -- the huge 97-yard touchdown pass from Matt Barkley to Andrew Abbott.

‘That play by Barkley was something tremendous,’ Mater Dei Coach Bruce Rollinson, pictured right, said. ‘That was all Barkley. By design, it should have been a safety. I don’t know how he threw it that far ... big-time players make big-time plays.’

And Barkley, who threw for 348 yards and three touchdown and rushed for another, is, without a doubt a big-time player. Probably the biggest in the Southland. And he’s only a junior. This kid’s future is scary.
