Well, it looks like Hart pulled a fast one on everyone before the game even started.

UCLA-bound linebacker Patrick Larimore, the guy Hart Coach Mike Herrington said on Tuesday was done for the season because he was scheduled to have surgery on Wednesday to repair a torn ligament in his thumb, will play in tonight’s game against Saugus, the 19-year Hart coach said.

Larimore didn’t have the surgery and he was on the Cougar Stadium field at College of the Canyons on Friday night with his left hand in a cast.

I’m still a little skeptical about how much Larimore will be able to contribute, but his on-field presence will be a definite spirit-rouser for the Indian faithful. We’ll see if it’s enough to knock off a Saugus team hungry for its first league title in 26 years.

Kickoff is less than half an hour away.
