USC lands O.C. pitcher

Jonathan Pettibone, a 6-foot-4 right-handed pitcher from Anaheim Esperanza, has selected USC as his college choice. With signing day on Wednesday, Pettibone waited until the last minute to finalize his choice. Pepperdine also made a big push. Pettibone was 8-2 with a 2.88 earned-run average last season.
