The Carson-Banning quarterfinal game on Wednesday will be played at Carson instead of Veterans Stadium in Long Beach, where the teams played on Nov. 8. Carson won that game, 21-0.

Carson Coach Michael Christensen said the school will add temporary bleachers, increasing total seating capacity from 3,000 to 4,000.

He said the second-seeded Colts (9-2) feel better prepared to play on a Wednesday this time -- ‘We felt thrown off trying to prepare for Dorsey’ in last year’s quarterfinal game -- but playing No. 7 Banning (9-2), a longtime rival, a second game in 13 days is a unique challenge.

‘I don’t think we’ve ever done this,’ Christensen said. ‘But I don’t think we’ll have any problems with the emotion we need to play. We know it won’t be a problem for Banning; they’ll want to even the score. I expect another tough game.’
