Crespi’s Prince ‘leaning pretty big’ toward Washington

Injured Crespi QB Kevin Prince told Rivals.com he’s ‘leaning pretty big’ toward committing to Washington instead of UCLA and will probably make a decision once specifics regarding a Mormon mission he plans to make after high school are figured out.

Prince, one of highest-rated prep QBs in California, said he enjoyed his experience while on a recruiting trip to Washington last month and commented about how UCLA hasn’t made him feel like he’s one of the school’s priorities. He also said he may greyshirt next year, go on his Mormon mission in 2009 and enroll in 2010.

The senior 6-foot-2 QB played only a handful of downs this season after suffering a torn ACL in the Celts’ season opener against Birmingham. However, he’s still made a significant impact within the team, acting as a valuable sideline mentor for sophomore QB Bryan Bennett.

And I’m sure Prince will be on the Santa Ana Stadium sidelines offering Bennett advice in second-seeded Crespi’s Pac-5 Division quarterfinal showdown with Mater Dei on Friday.
