Carson averaged nine yards a play in the first quarter and leads, 7-0, heading into the second against visiting Banning in a City Section quarterfinal.

The Colts missed a 27-yard field goal on the game’s first drive, got the ball back and marched 85 yards in eight plays and scored on Jack Sula’s three-yard run.

It’ a packed house here at Carson, and the Banning fans are getting restless as the Pilots dropped a first-down pass and went three-and-out on their second possession.

Carson’s yards-per-play just went up as Keenan Smith scored on a 46-yard touchdown reception on the Colts’ first play of the second quarter.
