Venice leads at halftime, 12-7

Curtis McNeal scored his 78th career touchdown with 9:37 left in the second quarter on a nine-yard run to give Venice a 12-7 halftime lead over Dorsey in a City Championship Division quarterfinal game.

McNeal has been the standout, rushing for 96 yards in 10 carries. But Dorsey’s defense has played well enough to give the Dons a chance at pulling off an upset.

Johnathan Franklin from Dorsey has run well enough to keep Venice’s defense occupied. He has rushed for 49 yards in 10 carries.

Venice has missed two extra-point attempts, one on a blocked kick and another on an incomplete pass.
