The game is barely four minutes old and there have alrerady been three touchdowns. I wonder if the people still outside the stadium at Orange Coast College know what they’re missing.

OK, here’s what they’re missing:

Exavier Edwards of Orange Lutheran returned the opening kickoff 98 yards. He got a nice block at the Edison 20 by Dane DiPalma, and it took out the referee, too. It’s OK, though, there were other referees to raise both arms in the air.

The Lancers’ lead didn’t last long. Nick Crissman’s screen pass to Areseo Lakey went for 65 yards to tie the score at 7-7 with 9:22 left in the quarter.

On Orange Lutheran’s second play from scrimmage, Edwards fumbled at his 30.

Crissman got protection and found Dylan Leener alone in the end zone for a 17-yard score. Nick Torres missed the PAT, and Edison leads, 13-7.

Honestly, going into the second quarter, I’m not really missing Mater Dei-Crespi right now.
