Sure, it’s a bummer Valencia RB Nick Hale has to miss the playoffs because of a bum knee, but at least he’s keeping a positive attitude about the situation.

‘It kind of sucks not playing, but it’s awesome to see Jordan [Thompson] play,’ Hale said. ‘He’s having a fantastic season and he’s getting it done for us right now.’

Hale’s not kidding. Thompson scored the first TD of the night thanks to his own 63-yard run two plays earlier to give the Vikings a 7-0 lead over Newbury Park with 8:50 left before halftime. Thompson has more than 75 yards rushing, so far.

His Newbury Park counterpart, Chris Brown, has been awfully quite. I know he’s got negative rushing yards, so far, but he’s made a couple catches in what’s been a great defensive duel.
