Get ready for another High Desert vs. Low Desert matchup in the Eastern Division, where Palm Desert is scheduled to play at top-seeded Serrano at 7 tonight.

These teams played a nonleague game at Serrano back in September, and the Diamondbacks had a pretty easy time in the 27-12 victory, their third straight over Palm Desert dating to 2004.

Sometimes, it’s not easy to beat a team for a second time in one season. The Aztecs are getting better play out of quarterback Ryne Clark, they have inserted a better playmaking running back into the rotation and will have the services of linebacker Austin Berryhill, who missed the last game against Serrano because of a shoulder injury. Palm Desert allowed 202 yards rushing in that game.

The difference, however, will be Snowline Stadium, where Serrano benefits from a boisterous home crowd and freezing temperatures.

If you thought it was cold back in September, Aztecs, wait until about 8 tonight.
