Servite edges Esperanza in Pac-5 quarterfinal

The third-seeded Friars beat Esperanza, 10-7, at Cal State Fullerton. They await the winner of the Crespi-Mater Dei quarterfinal for a semifinal clash as one half of the Pac-5 Division semifinal doubleheader next Friday night at the Home Depot Center in Carson.

D.J. Shoemate rushed for 116 yards in 29 carries, quarterback Johnny McEntee went nine of 17 for 106 yards and also rushed for one touchdown and Nick Echeverry had a 21-yard field goal in the third quarter for Servite (9-2).

Reid Williams had 13 carries for 73 yards and one touchdown and quarterback Sean McDonald carried the ball 14 times for 48 yards for Esperanza (10-2).
