Beautiful, cloudless day here at Woodward Park in Fresno, where Jordan Hasay of San Luis Obispo Mission Prep just broke her own Division V girls’ course record, winning in 17:05. Hasay’s time is also the all-time fifth fastest at the state championships.

Hasay, who won the Footlocker national championships as a freshman two years ago -- picture was taken during her freshman season -- sped through her opening mile in 5:21, a 22-second lead over the next closest runner, then hit the two-mile mark in 11:41, holding a one-minute lead.

Mt. Shasta won the Division V team title for the third straight season with 98 points.

With no wind and temperatures in the mid-40s, look for some great times today.

The Division I girls are next up on the starting line. Saugus is the team favorite, Kauren Tarver of Serrano will be seeking her third state title in four years.
