Newbury Park standout RB Chris Brown missed almost the entire second half of the Panthers’ 29-28 victory over Valencia with a bruised right knee. Panthers Coach George Hurley described it as ‘minor’ and was confident he will play next week in the Northern Division semifinals against second-seeded Hart.

Brown finished with 89 yards in 14 carries and caught an 80-yard TD pass -- all in the first half. He only ran the ball four times in the second half before taking himself out late in the fourth quarter.
