Hart’s Montgomery is a force on the court, too

Hart senior Mike Montgomery may be playing baseball at Cal State Fullerton next year, but he’s also poised to have a big-time senior season on the basketball court.

Montgomery scored 27 points in Hart’s 61-51 nonleague victory over Oaks Christian in the season opener for both teams on Monday. The 6-foot-4, 180-pounder scored 18 of those points in the first half as the Indians proved they’re definitely going to be one of the standout teams in the region this winter.

And Montgomery figures to play a defining role in Hart’s mission to win a second consecutive Foothill League title.
