Top-seeded Harvard-Westlake (29-4) will be making its first trip to the state divisional finals since 2001 with a 25-15, 25-15, 25-23 victory over second-seeded Laguna Beach (23-8) tonight in the Southern California Regional Division III final at Harvard-Westlake.

Behind another phenomenal performance by Megan Norton and Cathryn Quinn, the Wolverines dominated the first two games before relying on a couple of timely blocks by senior Marin Dennis and a final kill by Emily Waterhouse to put them over the top in Game 3.

It was an amazing contest and the Wolverines will play the winner of the Stockton St. Mary’s-San Francisco Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep match for a state title at 2 p.m. Saturday at San Jose State University.

(I found out later that Harvard-Westlake will play San Francisco Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep in the state divisional final on Saturday).
