The hype is here. The hype is huge. Already.

Ranked No. 1 in the Southland by the Times and No. 1 in the nation by USA Today, Long Beach Poly girls’ basketball team will jaunt up to Oregon for the Nike Northwest Invitational and kick off a season of expectation -- the expectation not to be the best in the Southland but the best across the country.

Pressure?

Not according to Jasmine Dixon, the star Jackrabbit, tenacious rebounder and Rutgers recruit. ‘I’m ready,’ she told USA Today. ‘Bring it on.’
