Kunau adds another fan to his collection

One of our metro columnists discovered Orange Lutheran Coach Jim Kunau over the weekend and wrote a nice little piece for the B section.

Anyone who has been lucky enough to know Kunau over the years isn’t surprised by his reaction after Friday’s unlucky loss to Long Beach Poly. The guy makes Tony Dungy look like the Grinch.

Sometimes I wonder, though, shouldn’t this guy be coaching another sport? Tennis maybe? Golf? How can somebody be so pleasant while teaching young men to forcefully knock another human being to the ground? I just can’t picture Kunau with a Bill Cowher face.

But that’s what makes Kunau such a breath of fresh air. You’ll never read a blog or string of comments criticizing his players or staff for their reactions after a win or loss.

Believe or not, there are folks who kow how to handle things the correct way.
