Harvard-Westlake OT Jonathan Martin, who recently backed out of his verbal commitment to attend UCLA, visited Stanford on Friday and is planning a couple more recruiting trips before making a decision.

The 6-foot-5, 270-pound guard told Scout.com he’d likely visit Cal in January and he’ll attempt to make one more visit to Westwood to meet with whoever UCLA chooses as its head coach.

But based on Martin’s comments, it looks as if his chances of becoming a Bruin could be revived if defensive coordinator/interim coach DeWayne Walker gets the job. Apparently, recruit and interim coach are big fans of each other.

He’s also still waiting to be academically accepted at Stanford.

As a senior, Martin played a defining role in helping the Wolverines finish 8-4 on the season with a second-place finish in the Del Rey League.
