Here’s a quick look at how some regional girls’ basketball teams performed in some of the big-name tournaments this last weekend:

CHANDLER (Ariz.): There must be some pretty lofty expectations over at Bell-Jeff this season. The Guards took home the Gray Division bronze medal after defeating Rosary, 55-36, on Saturday, but it seems Coach Bryan Camacho wasn’t exactly thrilled with the result. Check out what he told Ivan Orozco over at the Daily News.

FAIRFAX: After two losses in tournament finals, Montclair Prep (11-3) finally won its first tourney of the season Saturday with a 41-37 victory over the host Lions. The Mounties’ Chantel Dooley was selected tournament MVP. She had 10 points and seven steals in the title game.

PROVIDENCE: As I pointed out earlier, Village Christian took the tourney title, but Calabasas (9-6) defeated St. Genevieve, 65-31, behind a 22-point game by Haley Meadows to take third place. Meadows is averaging an impressive 15.3 ppg this season. Agoura finished sixth and La Reina took eighth.

SANTA BARBARA: No shocker here -- Ventura captured third place in the Gold Division with a 57-32 victory over Royal. Nicole Frank, who was chosen all-tournament along with teammate Victoria Brubaker, scored 12 points to push the Cougars to a 12-1 record. Hart, behind the strong three-day play of Megan Ford, finished fifth in the Gold Division. And, if you’ve been reading this blog for the last few days, then it shouldn’t surprise you that St. Joseph won the Green Division title.
