Chris Francis is a salesman. His product: unselfishness. ‘If you’re selling it and they’re buying it, then you’re going to have a successful program,’ Francis said.

Francis is the first-year boys’ basketball coach at Compton Centennial, where players are sharing the ball over shooting it.

Just tonight, all 11 Apaches scored while four players racked up double-digit points in a 90-41 first round victory over Nipomo in the Lynwood tournament. Each game, Francis said it’s his goal to find playing time for every player, hopefully before halftime.

‘You teach them unselfishness by getting everybody on the floor,’ Francis said. ‘And then you let them learn it on the fly.’

Compton Centennial (7-3) plays King-Drew at 4 p.m. Thursday at Lynwood.
