Oaks Christian has breezed through the La Canada tournament this week and tonight’s tournament title contest with Hart at 5:30 p.m. figures to be another one of those do-we-really-have-to-play-this-one kind of games.

And the biggest reason for the huge competition gap has been the play of Oaks Christian senior Chelsea Carlisle. She’s averaging a stunning 24.4 ppg this season and she’s scored a combined 72 points in the Lions’ tourney victories over Golden Valley, Flintridge Sacred Heart and La Canada.

Sophomore teammate Katie Brooks has also been scribbling all over the scoresheet this season, averaging a respectable 11.8 ppg and 11.9 rpg.

This seems to be just what the Lions need to dominate Tri-Valley League play once again, but maybe Oaks Christian should think about scheduling a tougher tournament next season. How about trying to get into that one down south at Ayala. That might help put the brakes on all these ‘Oaks Christian needs to play tougher teams’ blogs.
